El Sol Radio

Alright, time to start the blog. Friends, Pablo is officially in his blog era. I’ve been sitting on this for over a year now and today’s the day. I find myself riding the waves of motivation and inspiration often and not putting things down pen to paper. I think that’s okay. Not everything needs to be said, tweeted, or posted. Things can live in my mind or between friends. But I got the feeling to write again.

Who knows what this will turn into. I just want to share things with people and get back into the writing rhythm.

MUSIC I’M LISTENING TO AND OTHER THOUGHTS.

A few weeks ago, I decided to make the switch from Spotify to Apple Music. There’s lots of things to be said about the streaming industry that I would love to get into at a later date, but for now, the thing that made me make the switch was the price difference. Spotify is going to raise their monthly subscription to from $10.99 to $11.99 starting July 2024. In this economy, a dollar can go a long way! I also like the Apple Music interface so there’s that. I have yet to cancel my Spotify subscription because apparently you can only cancel it from your desktop….

When I opened Apple Music this morning to listen to some tunes in the shower. I noticed their way a little video celebrating Earth, Wind, & Fire’s I am album. In the month of June, it celebrated its 45th anniversary. I have a lot of good memories with this album. I remember giving it a first listen back in high school around 2017. I must’ve come across it through “Boogie Wonderland” and my love for Daft Punk and their huge funk, disco influence. The entire album is a classic and has no skips front to back. In my opinion, “After the Love Has Gone” is the albums best track. The lovely vocals and heavenly sax solo by Don Myrick at the end makes this track an instant classic. Go give it a listen if you haven’t already, what are you doing!

Looking through my recently listens, I’ll recommend

“After the Love Has Gone” by Earth, Wind, & Fire, “Runner” by Alex G, “Sunshine” by Steve Lacy, “simmer down” by Fousheé, and finally “Brad Jordan” by Isaiah Rashad.

I just needed to get these thoughts out of my head. Thank you for reading, always appreciate the time. EL SOL RADIO.
